Trip to Mansarovar Dam

A Birdwatcher’s Paradise

A formidable structure, the Mansarovar Dam is situated in the southwestern fringes of the Ranthambhore National Park, creating a walled boundary of the reserve. It is a perennial water source that attracts thousands of birds, both native and migratory, for better weather, food and breeding conditions. Get charmed by the number of birds you can recognize and have the chance of photographing in their natural habitat.
Flourishing with marine life, the calm surface of the dam proves an ideal backdrop to throw in a rod and catch some. The water of this dam is also used all year round to irrigate the fields in this desert state.
Trek through the flat grasslands, rocky terrain and hillocks with gentle slopes of the Vindhyas. Encounter some rare fauna like the wild boars, hyenas, larks and painted super fowls throughout the area. With untouched scenery, glistening waters, rare birds dotting its periphery and a fabulous landscape to enjoy a trek or two, Mansarovar Dam is a birdwatcher’s delight.
